This is the most naturalistically proportioned of the colossal heads discovered at Monte Alto, near La Democracia, where three are presently exhibited in the main square. All of the heads are roughly pecked, have partially unfinished sides, and show sharply defined closed eyes and mouths. There are no traces of headdress or other adornment except circular earspools, and even these are lacking in the head on exhibition.“
